Nancy Durrell McKenna - Photographer

nancy durrell mckenna

Nancy Durrell McKenna has been awarded The Royal Photographic Society: Combined Royal Colleges Medal for her outstanding contribution to photography in the service of medicine and surgery. The medal is awarded by The Society in collaboration with the Royal College of Physicians of London, the Royal College of Surgeons of England and the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.

Nancy has worked with Sheila on books about birth, breastfeeding and sex. Her photograph in Women's Experience of Sex, of a beautiful naked woman who had a breast amputated because of cancer, both shocks and reassures us. Her lively photographs of babies at the breast in Breast Feeding show that women with all different sizes and types of breasts can breastfeed successfully.
